YORK GUILD OF BUILDING CELEBRATING 65 YEARS
The Guild is proud to have survived the last 65 years in what have sometimes been very difficult times for the construction industry and it's associated trades. Over the years there have been many new developments in terms of building methodology, available materials and a great number of new rules and regulations to follow. As always, the Guild strives towards excellence hence we organise our annual programme of talks and visits to share and promote best practice.
MINI DIY SOS
This year and next we wan't to become more proactive in the local community sharing our combined skills and experience. To this end, we plan to complete a series of "MINI DIY SOS" projects in the local area to support elderly or vulnerable people in need.
We hope that local tradesman will volunteer a few hours of free time to work on these projects. It could be something simple, like mending a broken fence or laying a new path to create level access into a garden, but it will make a difference to someone who needs a helping hand.
If you would be willing to dedicate some time to helping, or have some left over materials that you could donate, please get in touch.
We will be collecting a database of our potential workforce and available supplies ready to match them to the people who need help.
